| Charon was a Slayer who helped to craft Kasdeja, the refuge
for mortal spirits during the war. However, the armies of Heaven
located and destroyed Kasdeja and, in the battle, the mortal woman
Charon had fallen in love with was slain. Determined to prevent such a
thing happening again, Charon built a new home for the spirits of
departed mortals, but this realm - Haven - was outside of God's
creation and therefore, so he believed, safe from Heaven's forces.
However, in the final days of the war, the armies of God did indeed
locate Haven and marched upon it. Determined to deny them access,
Charon fought to the last and then, finally, he sealed the gates of
Haven behind him, keeping the spirits safe inside, but preventing
anyone from gaining access ever again. |
