AMBRIEL/SAM HARDCASTLE

Ambriel, Bearer of the Divine Spark, was a proud angel of the House of the Firmament and one of the loyalest members of Lucifer's Crimson Legion. She never lost her belief in the omniscience of the creator, however, convinced that everything that has transpired is part of God's plan.

Born in prison to a heroin addict mother, Sam Hardcastle bounced from one foster home to another. She trailed through a succession of schools, at each one being ostracised and bullied by the established kids. At sixteen and a new pupil at St Anthony's School in Los Angeles, Sam decided to stand up to the bullies in defence of a younger student. That evening, those same bullies set upon her and gave her a beating that would have cost her her life had not Ambriel been waiting in the wings.

Now free of the Abyss, Ambriel intends to aid and guide humanity to fulfill their full potential and their true destiny as set out by God. She is also searching for Lucifer the Morningstar. In the guise of Sam, Ambriel still attends St Anthony's and she has used her power to help a shy, bookish girl named Emma Lieberman win the student presidency ahead of several more popular candidates.
